Easter Events
There are tons of fun Easter egg hunts and spring celebrations going on in the area! On April 13th, Arlington Hills Community Center in St. Paul will have a Spring Holiday Party from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. There will be games, prizes, and more!
Also on the 13th is the Giant Egg Hunt at McDonough Rec Center in St. Paul from 1-3 p.m. In addition to an egg hunt, there will be activities and games, aimed for children ages 12 and under. At the Langford Rec Center on the same day is a helicopter egg drop! Kids will love watching a helicopter release eggs into Langford Park. This event takes place from 1-2 p.m.
Finally, there is a flashlight egg hunt at Creekview Park in Minneapolis from 7:30-8:30 p.m. for kids aged 7 and under. Find even more Easter egg hunts, face painting, and meeting Peter Rabbit by visiting Family Fun Twin Cities. Oh, and did we mention that all of these egg hunts are free?
Free Days
The Wedge Table hosts free family activities every third Friday of the month, the next one is coming up on Friday, April 19th from 10 a.m. to noon. Activities might include dancing, creating, singing, tasting, learning, or just playing! Family Fridays at the Wedge Table are tailored towards children under the age of 7, but all families are welcome.
Another free day that happens regularly is at the Minnesota Children’s Museum, St. Paul. Every third Sunday of the month, Target sponsors free museum days from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. This is a great opportunity for your family to enjoy! Not to mention, your child will have lots to share at our child care center and preschool come Monday morning.
Animal Humane Society Day Camps
While most kids love animals, some kids are obsessed. What better way to help your child grow in their love for all creatures than signing them up for an Animal Humane Society day camp?
These day camps do have a cost ($55), it’s a pretty good deal for kids to enjoy. These day camps are hosted throughout the school year on days when school isn’t in session. All ages are welcome! These camps run from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.
Kids at the Castle
For another fun event every third Friday (and occasional Saturday) of each month, the American Swedish Institute offers Kids at the Castle for families in the area. Before the museum opens to the public, kids and their parents or guardians can explore the Turnblad Mansion. Circle time, storytelling, crafts, visual play, and music are all a part of the experience!
You don’t have to register ahead of time, but make sure you check in by 9 a.m. the morning of the event (at the front desk). The cost is only $8 per family, and is suggested for kids aged 2-5. Adults must be with kids at all times.
