Yellow Brick Road is a play-based preschool in downtown Des Moines for three, four, and five year olds getting ready for kindergarten. Our approach is play-based, child-interest guided, and teacher-led, building early literacy, early math, and social skills through hands-on projects and year-round outdoor play. Preschool Programs at Des Moines (Downtown)

Our downtown Des Moines preschool offers Preschool (3 to 4 years), Pre-K (4 to 5 years), and a School Age program for kindergarten through 6th grade. Teachers plan each week around what your preschooler is interested in, then intentionally layer in early reading, counting, writing, and the social-emotional skills that kindergarten teachers look for.
