Minnesota Parent Aware
Parent Aware is Minnesota’s quality rating and improvement system for early childhood programs. It helps families identify programs that meet high standards for school readiness, teacher-child interactions, curriculum, and health and safety practices.
Programs are rated on a star system based on quality indicators such as classroom environment, staff training, and family engagement. Participation demonstrates a commitment to continuous improvement and high-quality early learning experiences.
Yellow Brick Road Parent Aware Quality Rated Locations
When a program participates in Parent Aware, they volunteer for extra training and professional development to go above and beyond basic health and safety licensing requirements. Participating programs can earn up to a Four-Star Rating. Each Rating level builds on the previous one, helping families easily identify which practices the program is using.

Iowa Quality for Kids (IQ4K)
IQ4K (Iowa Quality for Kids) is Iowa’s statewide quality rating system designed to improve the quality of early care, education, and school-age programs. It focuses on key areas including staff qualifications, professional development, curriculum quality, and program leadership.
Programs advance through levels as they meet increasingly higher standards, reflecting a commitment to continuous improvement and strong developmental outcomes for children.

Nebraska Step Up to Quality
Step Up to Quality (SUTQ) is Nebraska’s statewide quality rating and improvement system for early childhood programs. It evaluates programs based on research-based standards that support school readiness and positive child development.
Ratings are based on multiple indicators including learning environments, teacher-child interactions, family engagement, and professional development. Higher ratings reflect deeper alignment with best practices in early childhood education.
