At Yellow Brick Road, we’re committed to being at the forefront of early childhood education, not just for our students, but for our educators as well. As we expand across three states, we are proud to take advantage of funded programs for continuing education, ensuring our staff receives the highest level of support, professional development, and growth opportunities. This dedication keeps us on the cutting edge of early childhood care and education.
The Lt. Governor of Minnesota’s Visit
Recently, we had the incredible honor of welcoming Lt. Governor of Minnesota, Peggy Flanagan, to our school as part of a state initiative to explore educational institutions that are deeply invested in their staff’s growth and well-being. During her visit, Lt. Governor Flanagan had the opportunity to witness firsthand the dedication our educators have, not only to the children but to their own professional development.
Her visit highlighted the importance of access to continuing education programs, such as those supported by the state of Minnesota and other federal initiatives. Lt. Governor Flanagan praised Yellow Brick Road for taking full advantage of these programs to enrich the knowledge and skills of our educators, enabling them to better serve children and families.
While the Dual Training grant is currently available to candidates in Minnesota, we look forward to locating more opportunities for our sister schools in Nebraska and Iowa.

Why Continuing Education Matters
In an ever-evolving field like early childhood development, staying current with the latest research, techniques, and best practices is critical. Continuing education programs allow our staff to learn about new teaching strategies, child development theories, and technology tools, keeping them prepared for the challenges of tomorrow.
Funded programs, such as state-sponsored grants and scholarships, enable our staff to pursue higher degrees, certifications, and specialized training without financial barriers. As we participate in these initiatives across Minnesota, Iowa, and Nebraska, we ensure that every educator at Yellow Brick Road is equipped with the skills and knowledge to succeed.
Setting the Standard for Staff Support Across Three States
One of the things that sets Yellow Brick Road apart is our commitment to creating a unified and supportive culture across all three states where we operate. In Minnesota, Iowa, and Nebraska, we ensure that our educators have access to continuing education and staff development opportunities that are tailored to the needs of their region while staying aligned with our overarching mission.
With partnerships between local colleges, universities, and funded state programs, we are able to offer our educators access to the best professional development resources. This not only improves the quality of education we provide but also fosters a sense of pride and accomplishment among our staff, which is vital to retention and long-term success.
Looking Ahead
As we continue to grow and adapt to the needs of our communities, Yellow Brick Road will remain dedicated to being a leader in early childhood education by investing in our teachers. The recent visit from Lt. Governor Flanagan was a wonderful reminder that we are on the right path, and we will continue to seek out opportunities to enhance the education and well-being of our staff.
The future of early childhood education is bright, and with the support of funded continuing education programs, Yellow Brick Road is proud to be leading the charge.
